With a few exceptions, the original machines that brought about the Industrial Revolution are all gone. All we have now are some crude drawings. This book presents them as real working machines, albeit in miniature. The models bring to light the ingenuity and skill of the first inventors and they also reveal artistic qualities that could not even be guessed at from the original drawings of the machines.
The author, an electrical engineer, took up model engineering as a hobby when he retired. He has since completed some thirteen accurate working models of forgotten machines built 1765 and 1840.
They all have appeared at the International Model Engineering in London where each has been awarded either Gold or Silver medal.
